Negativy z popelnice 1900-1945

The book Negatives from the Trash Can 1900–1945 is a photographic retrospective compiled by Martin Wágner from images acquired over three decades not only from second-hand bookshops or at auctions, flea markets and attics, but also from many donors. The publication contains 211 photographs printed on fine Italian paper on 308 pages, taken mainly in the Czech-Slovak territory, and depicts the changes in life in the first half of the 20th century. The images come from 58 mostly unknown authors. The book thus offers testimony to the fates of the inhabitants of Central Europe and, with the help of modern technology, revives forgotten moments. At the same time, it gives the addressees space for their own interpretation of historical contexts. The preface to the series of shots was written by Josef Moucha

The book contains an embedded workbook with photo descriptions. On its back page you will find the username and password for logging in. Logged in users can then browse not only the photo gallery in the book, but also hundreds of other photos in the relevant collections.
